"Belly" - Australia's greatest ever 125cc racer

Based on the top three overall results in each class at the Australian Championships between 1953 and 2001, New South Wales rider Glen Bell is Australia’s most successful 125cc racer.

Bell was the clear leader on 20 points, more than double the next best competitors – Victorians Gary Flood and Stan Jones, who finished equal second on 9 points. Other Victorians Troy Carrol and Troy Dorron finished in fourth and fifth on 8 and 7 points, respectively.

Throughout his career, Bell won six Australian 125cc Motocross Championships – the most of any rider. Victorians Gary Flood and Stan Jones won three each.

Bell was also the only rider to twice win successive 125cc titles – achieving this in 1983-84 and 1986-87.

He represented Australia eight times in the World Motocross of Nations between 1985 to 1993, mostly in the 125cc class.
